BM Safety & Training International Consultancy (BM STIC) was organized in 2009 in response to the growing demand for better safety and health practices in all workplaces. As such, all workplaces with effect from September 2011 must have a sound and acceptable Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) which is a systematic process for managing workplace safety and health. SHMS provides for goal setting, planning and measuring performance. It sets out clear management commitments, direction and approaches for workplace safety and health.

In Singapore, the Workplace Safety and Health Act of 2006 which replaces the Factories Act is an essential part of the new Occupational Safety and Health framework to cultivate good safety habits in all individuals so as to engender a strong safety culture in our workplace. It requires stakeholders to take reasonably practicable measures to ensure the safety and health of workers and other people that are affected by the work being carried out. In this Act, workplace? means any premises where a person is at work or is to work, for the time being works, or customarily works, and includes a factory.

BM STIC provides consultancy services so that workplaces comply with all relevant Singapore Standards and other international codes & practices. We also provide other services such as Risk Assessment & Management, Safety & Health Training, Fire Safety Compliance, Quality Management System and related campaigns & events management to promote Safety & Health and create awareness for all stakeholders.

Safety and Health continues to be a big challenge for all management. If management would learn to place as much emphasis on safety and health as on other management issues like production or quality, we may see a different picture. Safety and Health lapses resulting to injuries, accidents and recordable incidents lead to serious production and business losses. We strongly believe that all incidents are preventable with a proper and sound Safety & Health Management system.
