Clearvision Eye Clinic & LASIK Centre was established in 2001 by Dr Tony Ho and is one of the first private dedicated LASIK centre in Singapore. When it first started, the centre focused on offering the main refractive surgery method known as LASIK.
In 2004, Dr. Ho had the opportunity to perform the first no cut, no flap, Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA) method, now also known as epi-LASIK. It was found that epi-LASIK is less invasive than traditional LASIK as laser vision correction is done right on the cornea surface and not beneath a cut flap. It was also found that epi-LASIK had no risk of flap complications simply because a flap is not created at all. In June 2005, Dr. Ho was interviewed by Today Newspapers on epi-LASIK, the new refractive surgery method then. In November 2006, he also presented a study on epi-LASIK at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre to fellow doctors. Being the leading advocate and pioneer of epi-LASIK in Singapore and the region, Dr. Ho then went on to write books, articles and scientific papers on the safe, surface-based epiLASIK.
