Founded in Japan in 1876, Kokando is a renowned manufacturer and distributor of medication, medical equipment and healthcare supplies across generations.

It established operations in Southeast Asia in April 2014 and has swiftly built up a network of clients. In Singapore, these include key hospitals and clinics, nursing homes, educational and research institutes and government-linked organisations.
Our History

Hailing from Japan, Kokando is synonymous with quality medication. Our name derives from Masatoshi Maedas (lord of Toyama domain) desire to help those in rural areas access medical care.

The company operates a pay for use? or Etchu business model. Kokandos Asia-formulated medications are placed free-of-charge in households, and sales representatives periodically pay visits to restock and collect payment for medications used. Today, Kokandos business model has expanded to over-the-counter medications, pharmaceuticals and quasi-drugs, developed in accordance with the latest technological advancements.

Kokando has steadily expanded its overseas operations, beginning with an office in Myanmar (previously Burma) in 1944. Today, the brand distributes its products internationally. Within Asia, Kokando can be found in Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand; further afield, Kokando also exports to the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) and VISTA (Vietnam, Indonesia, South Africa, Turkey and Vietnam) countries. Future plans include expansion into the Middle East.
Our Ambition

The Kokando Singapore office is earmarked to become the Regional Headquarters for the companys Southeast Asian operations. We welcome opportunities to set up production plants and establish new business partnerships.
